Vision

The United Nations General Assembly passed an historic resolution in July 2011, inviting member countries to not only measure the happiness of their people but to use this as a guide for social and economic policy-making.  The second World Happiness Report has just been released (September 2013) and makes fascinating reading.  It identifies mental health as the single most important determinant of individual happiness and proposes a return to “virtue ethics”, leading  what Aristotle called a “good life” based on ethical principles and values and acknowledging the source of true happiness as much more than material wealth and consumption.
